EMRE CAN GO? NO WAY SAYS KLOPP

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

LIVERPOOL have told Emre Can he is going nowhere – even though the German’s contract stand-off with the club shows no sign of being resolved.

Juventus are reported to be lining up a £23million offer for Can (above), with the midfielder in the final year of his current deal.

But the Reds would prefer to lose Can for nothing next summer rather than cash in now on a player who is a key performer for Jurgen Klopp. He has made it clear that selling top players two weeks before the transfer window closes will leave his plans in tatters.

That’s why Liverpool want to keep Can – and are concerned at possibly losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Can is demanding £100,000 a week – but Anfield sources say other contractual demands have made negotiations stall.
