JUVE’S MASS ATTACK

-

JUVENTUS coach Massimiliano Allegri has warned his players the first game of the season is the toughest as they prepare to take on Lazio in today’s Super Cup.

Juve have won the last five Super Cups, but Allegri believes Lazio will provide a stern test at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico. And Juve will be without centreback Leonardo Bonucci (below) after his switch to AC Milan. Allegri admitted: “Lazio are an excellent team, well-organised with good quality players, and they should not be underestimated. “Juventus will always be strong and play with the same intensity, but this is a serious game. The first game is always difficult.” Allegri, who revealed he has three or four fitness doubts for the match, has brought in several players over the summer in an attempt to freshen up his squad – among them keeper Wojciech Szczesny, defensive duo Mattia De Sciglio and Medhi Benatia, and midfielder Juan Cuadrado.

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi said: “We will face the best team in Italy, a team who have won the last six Scudetto. We’ll have to be perfect.”
