So police and prison officers are going to get a “pay rise”.
After seven years of a public sector pay freeze and cap, coppers will get two per cent and jail guards 1.7 per cent. As inflation is 2.9 per cent it’s another pay cut.
But Theresa May claimed police were getting a good deal, saying overall pay had increased by 32 per cent. The Police Federation said that was a thin blue lie and Labour said officers had actually lost £6,000.
Terrible Theresa said in the election there was no magic money tree for nurses, who’ve seen their pay cut in real terms by 14 per cent. May’s failed election cost you the taxpayer £140million. That could have given a £200 bonus to every
George Osborne’s comment that he’d like to cut Theresa May up and put her in his freezer was appalling. If he’d said that as an MP, not a newspaper editor, the Press would want him to resign. If I were May, I’d ban him from the Tory conference and leave the nasty idiot out in the cold.
