Cancer teen leads battle for Mia, five

-

A SCHOOLGIRL cancer survivor has helped raise £280,000 to pay for a fellow child patient to go to the US for treatment.

Libby Jones, 13, asked her school friends to wear colourful clothes and donate £1 so Mia Chambers, five, could have neuroblastoma therapy.

The idea spread and other schools, offices and shops took part in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, where Libby and Mia both live.

Libby had eye cancer treatment in the US paid for by the NHS, but funding was not given to Mia.

Mia’s dad Josh, 28, who is with his daughter in Michigan, said: “Libby made it all happen.”
