Silly romp lost me my friend

One of my best friends and I had a silly night and slept together. We are both so embarrassed now that we can barely look at each other, yet we used to be the best of mates.

Is there any way we can get that back? I absolutely love him as a friend and he loves me like that too. Yes, of course you can – but you have to confront the awkwardness and get together and talk about it. If you both truly feel the same way, that you are actually FRIENDS and nothing else, and that you just made a silly mistake, then there is a future for your lasting friendship. The only problem would be if one of you really and truly wanted something more than friendship. Even then, you should both be able to shrug off that one night, and move on to a relationship you can both handle. The solution is in talking, not in avoiding each other.
