STRICTLY COME DANCING ACTRESS

Debbie’s waltz is pure magic

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

said: “She had her own place and I had mine, so it was in and out, in and out. It felt like at the time it worked.

“If she says she hasn’t been married maybe it’s because she never felt properly settled with me. Maybe she had to say this because it is better for her career.

“Anyone who wants stardom, they have to put their career before anything else, even me.

“It would be very selfish of me to rob her of everything she has now.” Chizzy quit Holby in June after admitting she worked so hard that she “never even dated while I was on the series”. She has also told how she battled depression night with Anton du Beke. Judges praised her “100 per cent improvement” on the first week.

Meanwhile, Eamonn joked about the relationshipwrecking Strictly curse, saying he will only worry “if Ruth and Anton wear matching outfits”. DEBBIE McGee waltzed off with an impressive 34 points from the judges for her Viennese Waltz.

Bruno Tonioli gushed: “You couldn’t be lovelier my dear”, while head judge Shirley Ballas said: “I have so much respect for this lady.”

Her score out of a possible 40, pipped boy band singer Aston Merrygold who scored 32 points for his dynamite salsa.

Bruno called him a “snake-hipped wonder”, adding he had “never seen such a difficult sequence of lifts”.

Brian Conley won a standing ovation from the audience for his cha cha cha. Shirley told him: “If this competition was just entertainment you would be a frontrunner.” and overcame a cancer scare. Henry texts Chizzy from time to time and she has met his wife of 17 years, Beatrice, and their three kids. He explained: “She comes around sometimes. I don’t ask if she is single as she gets a bit touchy.” And of Strictly, Henry added: “She could win because anything is possible. She is a good dancer because she used to do karate. “It would have been sad to see her stopped and I would never have wanted to be the thing that stopped her. The most important thing is we’re still friends.” Chizzy was unavailable. ASTON’S salsa was as close to perfection as you are likely to see.

To take such risks in a routine in just week two and to do it with such pizzazz was fantastic.

I was standing up watching this because I just wanted to get closer to the TV screen.

Amazing. AH, Brian! He was the face of the 70s, that outfit!

After a difficult last week he came back and showed why he is such an amazing entertainer. I loved the lifts and the secret moonwalk.

He completely deserved his standing ovation. He totally put himself out there. He was great.
