You ruined me
Carrey accused by ex-girlfriend before suicide
THE tragic girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey accused the “Jekyll and Hyde” star of ruining her life two years before she committed suicide.
A new note has been discovered in which he is accused of introducing Cathriona White to drugs, prostitutes and sexual disease.
The April 2013 iPad message was found by lawyers – though it is not clear if she ever sent it.
Cathriona, 29, from Ireland, wrote: “Before you, I might not have had very much but I had respect, I was a happy person.
“I loved life, I was confident and I felt good in my skin and was proud of most decisions I made. I met you, you introduced me to cocaine, prostitutes, mental abuse and disease.
“You did good things for me but being with you broke me down as a person, Jim.
“I was promised Jekyll and instead I got Hyde.
“Because I love you I would have stuck out Hyde all year and done everything he wanted to be with Jekyll for five of those, but you threw me away when you absorbed anything worthwhile that was left of me.” Cathriona took her own life in September 2015 and lawyers for
her family have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Liar Liar star Carrey, 55.
She accused the actor of destroying her self esteem during their on-off relationship, which started in 2012.
He has also been accused of giving her pills to kill herself and infecting her with herpes.
Carrey has dismissed the claims and insisted she took her life out of guilt after extorting money from him. It emerged last week that he had paid her an undisclosed sum in 2013 to settle her STD claims.
But he insists he never had herpes and claimed she contracted it before their relationship – then made accusations against him after one of their break-ups.
He said Cathriona took her own life because she felt guilty for blackmailing him over the STD issue.
Carrey issued a statement on Friday in which he slammed the family’s “false claims”.
And he said he was “not responsible for what these desperate characters inadvertently unearthed about the woman I adored”.
