She vows to ‘never settle’ for another duff relationship
MEL B has promised to “never settle for less than she deserves” in a relationship again as she looks forward to her post-divorce life.
The former Spice Girl, 42, is gearing up for a court showdown with estranged hubby Stephen Belafonte, who she accuses of domestic abuse.
But on Friday, she told fans: “There is sooo much more to life than finding someone who will want you or being sad over someone who doesn’t want you. Know your worth and never settle for less than you deserve, there is a lot of wonderful time spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way.
“You have to fill yourself with love and respect, don’t wait for someone to give or show you that as it won’t mean as much. You have to feel all this and give it to yourself first and foremost, become a whole being on your own and be proud of the struggle you went through to get there then no one can ever take it away from you.”
America’s Got Talent judge Mel has also said that she will throw herself a party to celebrate finally cutting Stephen, 42, out of her life. Mel got a restraining order after claiming Stephen was abusive during their marriage and forced her to “participate in sexual intercourse with him and random women”.
Stephen has denied her allegations but otherwise remained silent since their bitter divorce battle started.
Mel’s track record with men isn’t the best. Her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar, father of 18-year-old Phoenix Chi, ended acrimoniously, while actor Eddie Murphy dumped her before she gave birth to their daughter Angel, 10.
She and Stephen have daughter Madison, six, together.
Meanwhile, I can reveal that Mel is plotting a big comeback once court proceedings wrap up in November.
A source close to the singer said: “While Mel is focused on the divorce, she isn’t going to let this defeat her and has started planning her big comeback.
“She has already been inundated with offers and is choosing what she will do next carefully.”
