SNAP TO IT OVER MP SELECTION

-

It was right for Labour to suspend Sheffield MP Jared O’Mara from the party for his appalling internet comments about women. It does raise the issue of why he was selected in the first place.

As I understand it he was chosen by the party’s ruling NEC just by looking at his CV, the fact he declared there was nothing embarrassing about his past and a search of the internet. I know it was a snap election but Labour must ensure local members get the final say on candidates. Even if selection took a week, these comments might have come out in time. me a kiss for the cameras. She turned up her nose and replied: “You bloody well kiss him!”

Diving in the Mediterranean, I was shocked to find very few fish, a sea bed of dying coral, a plastic cup and an empty cola bottle.

My experiences made me more determined to save our oceans and, years later, I was the main negotiator at Kyoto, which led to the first international agreement on climate change.

Blue Planet II will reveal just how sea life is being killed by carbon pollution and millions of tons of dumped plastic.

Some flat-earthers deny the evidence so I’m glad BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme had to apologise for allowing Lord Lawson to deny climate change without any challenge.

Sir David Attenborough has made a huge contribution to helping us save the planet for future generations, probably more than any politician.
