Police guard Messi’s bruv in boat quiz
THE brother of football legend Lionel Messi was under police guard in hospital last night after a mystery involving a bloodcovered boat and a gun.
Matias Messi, 35, was arrested at a clinic where he sought help for a broken jaw and other injuries.
He claimed he was hurt when his speedboat rammed a sandbar in a river in Rosario, Argentina.
But cops say they found a pistol with six bullets in it on the craft, which was streaked with huge bloodstains, and believe he had been fast asleep when a fisherman rescued him.
They are now waiting to interview him when he is lucid enough to talk.
Messi, one of three siblings of Barca star Lionel, 30, was on probation last year for gun possession.
