And now Foxes find Mahrez is to dye for

-

of minutes before the end, the points were in the bag.

It was the fourth time the Foxes have scored in the first 10 minutes this season, and to think previous managers Craig Shakespeare and Claudio Ranieri thought the option was Gray or Mahrez.

New head coach Claude Puel picked them both in his first match and he seems to feel they can do a job after bringing in Gray for Shinji Okazaki.

He is not quite as impressed with Mahrez’s hairstyle, though.

Puel said: “It’s a problem for him, not for me. If he shines any more like that, then it will be a good thing.

“I was happy with his game. He was good without the ball and good with the ball – and with the colour of his hair it was a big issue!”

Burnley have made it to the top six this season on the back of their away form. So after only a second defeat on their travels, boss Sean Dyche was not too despondent.

He said: “I thought we were good in the first half but it was a soft goal. We were caught flat-footed, which is unlike us. We usually smell danger earlier.

“Nick has been excellent for us this season but our defenders were also staring at the moment instead of reacting and it’s rare for them to do that.

“We expected a reaction from Leicester in the second half and we got it.

“It was more like a basketball game. We could have won it but they could have scored, too.” The other downside for the Clarets was an injury to Robbie Brady after tangling with Harry Maguire. Brady was in a hospital last night with fears his left knee has been badly damaged. Having led so quickly, Leicester were swamped. Five corners in quick succession turned the screw, but the Foxes refused to buckle. Mahrez nearly scored when he sprinted on to a clever header by Ndidi and unleashed a shot which forced Pope into a save. Wes Morgan was even closer. Vardy’s miscued volley fell for the defender, but Morgan was denied by a clearance off the line from Phil Bardsley. LEICESTER BURNLEY 3 ........... Shots on Target ........ 4 6 ...........
