Langley cleared on girl, 15
Cops say no crimes committed
SACKED Corrie star Bruno Langley has been cleared over allegations he tried to groom an underage girl.
The actor, axed from the soap after admitting two sex attacks, had been reported to police over claims he pestered a 15-year-old. The accusation was made a week after Langley, 34, admitted molesting two women
while drunk in a Manchester club. The girl claimed he approached her in a gym in 2015 and later on social media, saying: “You’re absolutely beautiful. Are you single?”
But Greater Manchester Police said: “On November 6 the National Crime Agency referred a report to GMP that inappropriate messages were sent to a girl under 16 in Sale. Detectives carried out enquiries including speaking to her. No crimes were committed.”
It’s not known whether Langley was aware of her age at the time.
A source close to him said yesterday: “He is relieved the matter is over with.”
A court heard last month how the star – who has played gay Todd Grimshaw since 2001 – molested the women at Manchester’s Band on the Wall in October, grabbing them by the crotch.
He got a 12-month community order and curfew and was told to pay £250 to his victims and sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
Sources say he is being written out of the soap with a storyline in which he hits a policeman and goes on the run.
