- BY KAREN ROC KETT

TWO previously unknown tombs dating back around 3,500 years have been discovered in the Egyptian city of Luxor.

Archaeologists had been led to the entrances of the burial sites after discovering the nearby tomb of god Amun-Re’s goldsmith in September.

Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry said one of the tombs, which has five separate entrances, contains painted wooden funerary masks, gilded coffins and a mummy wrapped in linen.

The other has a sixmetre burial shaft leading to four side chambers, and contained fragments of wooden coffins along with other artefacts.

Wall inscriptions and paintings suggest the tombs date to around 1490BC – the 18th dynasty of pharaohs.

It is thought the tombs belonged to two of the kingdom’s senior officials. stairs at home. Doctors say it was caused by the 58-year-old’s low blood pressure and he had to miss two episodes of the X Factor.

Making light of the accident, David says: “The lesson is don’t wear high heels when you go up stairs. He got hurt very badly. Unfortunately, not fatal.”

The funnyman cheekily admits that another face from BGT gave him inspiration for one of his books. He explains: “Often the books come from real life. My first book was The Boy In The Dress – when I was younger my sister used to dress me up in this dress, handbag and hat and she would parade me up and down the street where we lived.

“We also had this contestant on Britain’s Got Talent and he came on with greasy black hair, a wheeze and false teeth and his first line was ‘I know what you are thinking. They have dug up Roy Orbison’.

“He told us he was going to eat live cockroaches and, true to his word, he did.

“He got buzzed off very quickly and it got me thinking like what else would he do? Would he turn rats into burgers? Then that is where my book Ratburger came from.

“And the best part of it all? I did not have to pay him a penny. I took his life and turned it into a book and never ever said ‘thank you’ to him.”
