All of us will have dates with destiny

- I can’t wait to get my hands on Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House. Trump has stupidly ensured Michael Wolff’s exposé becomes a bestseller by getting his lawyers to try to shut it down. After his first chaotic year in the White House, not much a

Anne’s tragedy On Loose Women this week we discussed whether we believed in destiny. I do, especially since I found my daughter Amara. Destiny is the only way I can explain how a failed IVF treatment prompted me to ring my council for adoption info. That call set me and my husband Steve on a journey to Pakistan where we adopted Amara from an orphanage when she was just four days old. My co-presenter Anne Diamond believes in destiny because it helped her come to terms with the sudden cot death of her baby Sebastian. She explained that while her loss was devastating, others made her realise that because it had happened to a big telly star like her she was able to turn the spotlight on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome – unheard of back in 1991. That led to a campaign which raised awareness and saved countless babies’ lives. Destiny can be cruel or kind, but whatever she throws at us, there’s always a lesson to be learned.

Did you see me last night on the BBC1 show And They’re Off! for Sport Relief? Now I don’t mind looking a fool in a good cause. And I love a bit of competition.

But when I realised I’d be racing ex- England striker Michael Owen and rugby legend Mike Tindall on obstacle courses, I rang my hubby and said: “I’ve got no chance.”

But it was a fantastic experience and my team, which included TV’s Carrie Grant and Ollie Locke, had such a laugh and together we made a lot of money for charity. It was the taking part that mattered!
