In a speech on Labour’s Brexit position, he will say of the Tories: “Labour stands for a different future.

“We will use funds returned from Brussels after Brexit to invest in our public services and jobs of the future, not tax cuts for the richest.”

The UK currently pours £13.1billion-a-year into the EU but gets £4.5billion back in rebates and investment.

Theresa May is due to reveal her final negotiatin­g position on Friday following a full Cabinet showdown.

She said yesterday that decisions now “will shape this country for a generation”. She added: “If we get them right, Brexit will be the start of a bright new chapter. Our best days lie ahead.”
