Countryvile Presenter Julia threatened by aggressive, abusive dog walker

Former Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury loves nothing more than enjoying peaceful walks in unspoiled surroundings. But a recent trip out turned nasty when she was threatened by a dog walker who called her a whore.
The Britain’s Best Walks presenter and mum of three says she was left shaken after confronting the man about his dog’s mess.
Reliving the frightening encounter near her west London home, Julia, 47, said: “I noticed that his dog was defecating on the pavement. I just said, ‘You are going to clean that up, aren’t you?’ He said, ‘Yeah, yeah. I’m just going to get a spade from the builders’. He didn’t come back and so I pursued him down the street. “His dog was doing it again outside another house a bit further down the street and I said, ‘Look, you just can’t do that. It’s not on’. “He didn’t have anything with him so I said, ‘Well you are walking a big dog so you should have something’.” She says she offered him some kitchen roll. “Then he started calling me a whore and said he knew where I lived. He was swearing at me and was just really, really aggressive. It became a very nasty altercation quite quickly. What if everything he had threatened was true? I don’t know what kind of guy he is.”
Julia, who is heading this month’s Keep Britain Tidy’s Great Spring Clean, says she began filming him on her phone and then he backed off.
She says: “He turned around and walked away. I haven’t seen him since.”
Julia decided not to report it to the police, saying: “Yes, it’s dog poo and I feel serious about it, but the police are very busy and it’s one of those things when you take a judgement call.”
