Shooting Brit plea: No guns for teachers
A BRIT teen who had to hide from a gun maniac in the Florida high school shooting has said teachers should not have to “take a bullet” for their pupils.
Lewis Mizen, 17, told a conference in Dubai that arming school staff would put them in the line of fire.
He told how he asked his sister, a teacher in England: “I know you love your students but could you take a bullet for them?”
Lewis, from Coventry, has been at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High for three years and was in class when 17 pupils were killed on Valentine’s Day.
He added: “The goal is that every child across the world is able to go to school and come home again to their parents.”
US students march next Saturday for gun reform.
