It’s thin end of the veg

-

Okay, hands up! I admit it. There have been times, and not just a few, when I’ve been too lazy to chop, peel or dice my own veg and have wasted money on “pointless pre-prepared food”.

I know it’s pricey to buy carrot batons in a packet, but the thought of taking a knife to whole carrots after a day’s work is too much sometimes.

But even I wouldn’t stoop so low as to buy ready-diced onion at £1 a bag, or “easy garlic” (which is just peeled, squashed garlic swimming in additives).

If you’re going down that route, you might just as well order in a pizza and be done with it.
