Show of love for unknown RAF veteran

AROUND 150 strangers plan to attend the funeral of an RAF veteran who died with no known family.

Kenneth White, 84, died in hospital where staff knew little about him.

But after a social media plea for mourners, his funeral was switched to a larger crematorium chapel.

Paul Knight, who plans to attend on March 26, said he hoped to find out about Mr White’s life beforehand.

He said: “I heard about him dying and there would be nobody at his funeral. It made me really sad.”

Cambridge City Council is organising Mr White’s funeral where a bugler will sound as his coffin arrives.
