Spinalcordcompression

-

THREE years ago I suffered spinal cord compression after an accident.

I had various treatments and back surgery, but was still in agony. I could barely walk and at times felt suicidal.

Doctors said more surgery was too risky due to other underlying conditions. Then I contacted consultant Deb Paul at Spire Leeds Hospital. He suggested XLIF, a procedure which involved going in from the side of the body with less risk of nerve damage and infection.

I had my first op last May to correct the slipped disc and another one two weeks later to insert screws and rods to stabilise my spine.

I am now pain free, enjoying life again and I return to work soon.
