Lion your pockets!

BACK Jamie Vardy to put a feather in his England cap against Chelsea (BBC1, 4.30pm).

The Leicester striker is in prime shape to reboot his Three Lions profile — and in front of a proper telly audience too.

Vardy (above) has struck in seven of his last 10 club starts, and his scoring record against the ‘big six’ this season is an eyecatching eight ‘anytimes’ out of 11.

It’s a strike rate that makes Harry Kane look like a big-game flop.

And what have Chelsea got left after their blooper-strewn Champions League exit in midweek?

In a World Cup year you do have to wonder if from this point on some of these Blues are going to be phoning it in.

Vardy is the call to make at 2/1 ‘anytime scorer’ (888sport, Betfair) — the HIgh Street best is 15/8 (Paddy), and that’s fair enough too.

If you don’t mind a skinny one, YES ‘both teams to score’ looks right on my forecast at 8/11 (Paddy, Fred).
