Reds back to reality
THE recently decided Champions League 2018 finalists follow up their goal-fests to glory with two intriguing contests today.
Liverpool head to Stamford Bridge, where they can all but ensure Champions League football again next season – but, hold on a Mo, who’s to say they won’t triumph in Kiev and do it that way?
Meanwhile, Zizou’s boys are playing for pride in El Clasico – and who’d not be proud if they had the chance of a Champions League winner’s medal in the city named after a chicken garlic-butter centre? Then we turn to the down and dirty scrap to stay in the Prem, now involving four clubs, since that nice Mr Hughton’s team are safe after spanking the specialist in attributing failure elsewhere.
And West Ham made amends for last week’s abysmal performance against Manchester City by beating the imploding Foxes yesterday.
The sibilant strugglers Swansea and Southampton will slug it out for
salvation. And Darren Moore will be in the pews today, praying that his miraculous recovery of the Baggies continues. His ongoing success has accentuated what a vain and useless fool his predecessor was.
But possibly just as at risk are the Terriers, whose last games are against Man City away today, Chelsea away on Wednesday and Arsene Wenger’s valedictory Gunners match. It won’t be easy.
