Woman’s body cut from giant python

SHOCKED villagers cut the lifeless body of a woman out of a giant python that swallowed her whole.

Wa Tiba’s two children discovered the bloated 27ft beast barely able to move a day after she went missing while gardening on Sulawesi island, Indonesia.

Horrifying footage of the snake being slit open showed the 54-year-old’s head was towards the tail and her feet at its mouth – meaning she had been swallowed head-first.

Local Ayu Kartika said: “Everybody was crying, everybody was shocked. The poor woman. This is like a horror movie. People are terrified. We are scared to go outside.”

Hundreds of villagers had gathered in remote Mabolu village after police were called. Superintendent Agung Ramos said Wa had vanished after going out to check her garden on Thursday evening.

Searchers found her torch and machete but no sign of Wa. Supt Ramos said: “They found a python that looked like it was unable to move. Residents then suspected the snake had swallowed Wa.

“People took the snake into the village and started splitting the snake.

“The suspicions were true and there was a body intact inside.”

Wa was given a traditional burial within hours of the grim discovery.

Sulawesi is home to some of the world’s biggest and most deadly wild pythons.

In March last year, the body of a young farmer was cut from a giant snake that had swallowed him while he was harvesting rubber.
