She takes up yoga after love split

- BY HALINA WATTS Showbiz Editor

CHERYL Tweedy is getting in good shape despite her split from Liam Payne. The pop star, 35, has been doing calming yoga to cope with the devastating break-up from the ex-One Direction heartthrob. As their relationship fell apart in recent months, Cheryl has been finding comfort in the Eastern practice, which includes getting into warrior, downward dog and bridge poses. A pal said: “Cheryl has really taken to yoga, it’s been keeping her in shape and giving her piece of mind. She loves it.” Cheryl and ex-One Direction star Liam, parents to 16-month-old Bear, ended their two-and-a-half-year relationship two weeks ago. Fight For This Love singer and former X Factor judge Cheryl appeared in public for the first time since the split on Monday at Simon Cowell’s Syco record label party. She said she was feeling “strong and happy” before gushing about her son. She said: “Bear is amazing, I love him so much, he’s the best thing ever that has happened to me.” She said she watched him babbling away at a painter at their house a while ago.

She said: “I watched them for ages, it was the cutest thing. He loves music, he’s already telling me, ‘No mama I don’t like that song’.”

Cheryl has been back in the studio recording a new album and will have new music out later this year.

This week Liam, 24, moved out of the £5million mansion he shared with Cheryl.

DISASTER

He said: “It’s been very hard, being away, being out on the road. Babies want their mum, I’d never have wanted to get in the way of that. “It was easier on the road just knowing he wanted his mum. “Now he looks at me and points at me like, ‘Here’s this fun guy!’ He knows.” But Liam also confessed to a US magazine he doesn’t like leaving his little lad. He said: “That makes me more upset now, leaving, because I know he’ll want to see me. “But he’s not at the place yet where he’s crying when I leave, that’s gonna be absolute disaster. “I’m not ready for that.” halina.watts@ mirror.co.uk
