Tyger’s take on ‘parents’ hooking up
Tyger Drew-Honey – young star of Outnumbered – says he’s delighted to see his on-screen parents as a real-life couple.
Hugh Dennis, 56, and Claire Skinner, 53, have been dating for more than a year after finding romance when the cameras stopped rolling. Tyger, 22, says he never suspected it would happen.
“They were never lovey dovey on set,” he said.
“They are in a serious relationship now and it’s a great thing to see having worked with them for so long. I feel very affectionate towards them, as I almost feel like I am their son.
“It’s great they have found happiness and love after their previous relationships broke down. They are both such lovely people and very well suited. Hugh has said they are really happy together.”
And Tyger knows why co-stars hook up.
“If the spark is there then it can really develop if you are romantically involved on screen, and that must have happened here.”
Tyger returns as Dylan – this time dating an older woman – in series four of comedy Cuckoo with Greg Davies, tomorrow on BBC1 at 10.45pm. After attending top drama school Guildhall, she insisted in a newspaper interview in August 2007: “A woman is never going to get to be Bond or Doctor Who, that will never happen.
“Still it’s a case of only certain roles being open to women.
“When we were training it was a 50-50 male-female split, but we all knew when we came out that 80 per cent of acting jobs are for men.”
