It was captioned “My life is complete”. At Carrie’s 30th birthday party earlier this year it was reported Boris sweated through his suit as he danced with senior Tories Zac Goldsmith and Sajid Javid to the Swedish group’s hits. In another social media picture posted by Carrie she is seen rubbing shoulders with Boris’s former campaign manager Nigel Adams MP at Cheltenham Racecourse. The pair shared a lavish visit to the racecourse in January. It was paid for by gambling firm William Hill and was worth £540 according to the register of interests. Former Tory PR chief Carrie, meanwhile, is tomorrow expected to start a new role with Bloomberg Philanthropies, the charitable arm of the City tech giant. Her work with the Tories over eight years has been praised by former colleagues and there were claims she was forced out after becoming caught in the crossfire between Boris and No 10. Westminster, meanwhile, remains abuzz with rumours about Boris’s lifestyle and his ambitions for the Tory leadership. He and Marina announced 10 days ago that they were splitting after 25 years of marriage. Boris wed first wife Allegra MostynOwen in 1987 after they met at Oxford. He married Marina in 1993. But a string of affairs – and a lovechild – followed and Marina kicked him out twice, only to take him back. Carrie was just 19 when she was targeted as she waited for a night bus in London.
Worboys pulled over in his cab and offered her a lift, claiming he lived in the same area and saying he did not like to see young women waiting alone.
After Worboys was convicted in 2009 over a string of assaults – and amid fears the number of victims topped 100 – Carrie waived her right to anonymity and gave an interview about the incident.
She said at the time: “It was absolutely terrifying when I found out how many women he had gone after. I was definitely in a position of danger, in a situation where I was not in control and I will never know what really happened to me.
“He is a sad, wicked man who is a danger to society. I feel so angry that he pleaded not guilty and made us go through the pain of giving evidence.”
She described how she waited for a bus on the King’s Road after a night out with friends. Worboys pulled up and offered to take her back to her Surrey home, even though she only had £5 on her.
After she got into his cab he told her he had won money at the casino and offered her a celebratory glass of champagne.
Carrie said: “I felt indebted to him because he had given me a cheap lift home. But when I got the glass I secretly poured it on to the floor as I was worried it might be spiked.”
Worboys then told her about a woman who had performed a sex act for £250 and asked Carrie if she would do the same.
But she laughed it off before he took his attack to another level. He climbed into the back and attempted to ply her with drink.
Carrie tried to refuse but Worboys persisted. She finally had a shot of vodka, which police believe was spiked. Carrie has no recollection of what happened after.
She said: “I downed it, which was stupid, as I just wanted to get home. From that point on I can’t really remember what happened.”
When she finally made it home, Carrie collapsed in front of her mother. She was unconscious until 3pm the next day.
