Sex text MP now facing new inquiry

- BY ALAN SELBY

SHAMED MP Andrew Griffiths is facing a probe by Parliament’s watchdog over his seedy sex texts.

The Tory could be kicked out of the Commons if a Standards Commissioner investigation finds he breached rules.

It comes three months after the dad of one – already being probed by the Tories – quit as Small Business Minister when the Sunday Mirror revealed his 2,000 texts to two women.

Meanwhile, local politicians have branded married Griffiths shameless after it emerged he plans to apply for re-selection.

Deneice Florence-Jukes, a councillor who claims Mr Grif- fiths inappropriately touched her when they worked together, said: “He hasn’t been seen in our constituency for over 10 weeks yet he is still collecting his MP’s salary and running two offices at taxpayers’ expense.

“I trust if he does indeed apply for re-selection, he fully commits to the Nolan Principles by being honest, transparent and accountable to us the public by disclosing the content of messages sent to the two young female constituents. Then let the people of Burton and Uttoxeter, the Conservative Association and the Conservative Party decide if he is morally fit to be in public office.”

We told how the MP, 47, exchanged explicit texts with Imogen Treharne, 28, and a fellow barmaid – detailing sick fantasies, paying them for racy pics and asking one to beat the other.

Sources say he is fighting to save his marriage. The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards refused to comment.
