DAVID Bowie’s ex-wife Angie today reveals she was raped in a hotel room by two men at the height of the Starman’s fame – but never told him about it.
The woman who was the driving force behind the rise of the glam rock legend woke up after having her drink spiked to find herself on a bed covered in blood as the men towered over her.
But far from cowering in fear, feisty
Angie, now 69, took a swift revenge on her swaggering attackers.
She leaped up and flew at the shocked pair, battering them with a barrage of punches, before calmly walking out of the room.
Speaking for the first time of the rape in New
York in 1974, defiant Angie says: “My dad was a US army colonel. I just remembered his advice and beat them up. But I didn’t go to the police. They wouldn’t help you.
“And I never told David. I never gave him bad news. That wasn’t my job. He wouldn’t have been able to deal with that kind of thing. I just learned to block it all out. I ignored it.

“I’m not a survivor. I’m a warrior because that’s what you have to be.”
Angie talks about the shocking treatment of women in the music industry – and how she was hated for the power she had as the star’s manager.
She claims she and Bowie were trailblazers for gays and transsexuals in the Seventies – and reckons the star, who pursued under-age girls, would not have been affected by the MeToo movement.
And she tells of her pride in the 48-year-old film director son she had with the rock hero – even though she hasn’t seen him since he was 13.
Angie talks about her life with Bowie in an explosive new book Lipstick Legends. They met in London in 1969 and they married a year later.
She masterminded the Ziggy Stardust singer’s rise to superstardom, landing him his first record deal and helping create his iconic looks. He wrote hits The Prettiest Star and Golden Years about her.
