MUTINOUS Tory MPs are set to tell Boris Johnson to boot out his hated adviser Dominic Cummings.
A furious delegation of around a dozen will arrive at the Prime Minister’s office this week amid growing calls to rein in his right-hand man.
The coup could take place as soon as tomorrow, sources said, as Parliament’s bill ruling out a no-deal Brexit receives Royal assent.
The group will approach the chief whip plus Mr Johnson’s parliamentary private secretary Alex Burghart, and the PM himself.
A source said: “They are going to lay it on the line for him. Cummings is poisonous.”
MPs including some of the PM’s Cabinet ministers are angry that Mr Johnson kicked 21 rebels out of the party on Cummings’ advice.
They believe the man who wheedled himself into the position of the PM’s effective chief of staff wields too much power for an unelected adviser. And they blame him for giving the PM duff advice because, though a brilliant Vote Leave campaigner in the 2016 EU referendum, he does not understand Parliament.
The Sunday Mirror can reveal that former Conservative Party vice chairman Sir Roger Gale confronted the PM after his foul-mouthed sidekick threatened an ex-cabinet minister.
The expletive-laden call came as Mr Cummings threatened former Business Secretary Greg Clark that he would be “purged” if he stepped out of line in Tuesday’s vote paving the way for a Bill to rule out a no-deal Brexit. Mr Cummings said: “When are you f***ing MPs going to realise we are leaving on October 31? We are going to purge you.”
The whip was later withdrawn from the MPs who rebelled, banning them from standing as Tories at the election.
