BEN FOSTER came to Watford’s rescue – but at the other end they still couldn’t hit a barn door with a muckspreader.

In the week his injured captain Troy Deeney revealed that Foster had received death threats on social media last season, the Watford keeper’s safe hands preserved a second clean sheet in three games.

But the Hornets are not going ing to stay up by grinding out goalless alless draws at home in the rain.

Deeney, their talisman and a major goal threat but still out since a knee operation in August, is urgently required d back to complete the picture.

And head coach Quique Sanchez Flores admitted his players were like jigsaws – going to pieces in the box – after they were let down by more “nervous” finishing.

Watford have equalled their r record of 10 games without a League win at the start of a season, while just five goals in 10 matches – the worst tally in the division – tells its own story.

And the Hornets are the only side in the top six divisions of English football’s pyramid without a win.

Flores has taught Watford to keep the back door shut, but up front they are as toothless as your granny when she leaves her false teeth in a jar beside the bed.

He said: “We don’t need to be worried at the moment – we had chances from the very

Watford have become the first team to fail to win any of their opening 10 games to a Premier League season on two occasions, with the Hornets also doing so in 2006-07. first minute here. The feeling we had at the end was that the match was really tough, very even, and we are more mature defending.

“Sometimes we are not taking good decisions in the final third, but it’s part of the process and you can understand the players are not feeling completely relaxed in our position.

“When we are in the opponents’ box, I can sense the players are a little bit nervous.

“But every ev single week I can feel the team i is growing. I am confident we can survive, su but I am realistic, too – w we have to work hard, but

we are trying to create something solid for the future.” Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admitted: “It was a game both teams could have won and we’re a bit disappointed we didn’t because our chances were good enough.

“Am I surprised Watford are where they are? Yes – because they have got good players, an outstanding manager and I don’t think anyone expected them to be in the position they are.

“But I think it’s temporary because they have the quality to win games at this level.”

Abdoulaye Doucoure should have scored from 10 yards out but he blazed horribly over after Cherries keeper Aaron Ramsdale parried Daryl Janmaat’s low cross.

After Steve Cook’s header rattled the bar, Foster denied Diego Rico’s rocket and smothered Arnaut Danjuma’s close-range effort.

Gerard Deulofeu was foiled by Ramsdale, and the keeper went fulllength to reach Will Hughes’ drive.

At the other end, Bournemouth’s Harry Wilson was a whisker away with a 25- yard free- kick before Foster blocked Ryan Fraser’s shot.
