VIDAL CLASS Art rescues Barca

-

ARTURO VIDAL helped Barcelona fight back to snatch a victory at La Liga’s basement boys Leganes.

But it was another unconvincing away display by the champions.

And goal hero Vidal admitted that Barcelona badly need to raise their performances, with a trip to title rivals Atletico Madrid looming.

Vidal said: “It’s always nice to score for Barcelona and it’s even better when it means getting the three points and leaving a difficult ground getting the result we wanted.

“The sensations are not good when you concede first, and we have to improve a lot.

“In the second half, playing with our usual system, we played better.

“We need to try and control these games better and not concede early as these are the matches that decide titles.”

Barcelona face Atletico next and will be without inf luential midfielder Sergio Busquets, who is suspended after picking up a fifth yellow card of the campaign.

They at least head to the capital on the back of a win in new Leganes coach Javier Aguirre’s first home game.

The struggling hosts took the lead thanks to a superb strike into the top corner from striker Youssef En-Nesyri on 12 minutes.

But Barca levelled in the 52nd minute when Luis Suarez glanced in Lionel Messi’s free-kick.

Ernesto Valverde’s side won the game thanks to a fortunate goal in the 79th minute from

Chi lean midfielder

Vidal , who was offside when he knocked in from close range.

But a review by VAR ruled him

‘on’ as the ball had bounced off Leganes’

Ruben Perez.
