Dynasty duo and want to reprise their famous roles three decades later.

The veteran stars were partners in crime (and shoulder pads) as Alexis Carrington and Sable Colby in the 1980s US soap opera. The show, which came to an end in 1989 after eight years, was the most watched show in America and gave both actresses a huge international profile.

Now Stephanie, 73, says she and Joan, 86, have discussed putting on those glamorous gowns once again.

“Joan Collins and I think it would be very good for us to come back,” she says.

“Joan and I are still fabulous – so why aren’t we doing it? But I don’t think I would make a suitable granny for the Colbys now from what I hear.”

She means the current reboot of Dynasty, which Netflix brought back in 2017, with a totally new cast. The show once again follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children.

But Stephanie admits that she hasn’t watched it. “Oh, that’s got nothing to do with the real stuff,” she says. “That’s all young people, isn’t it?

“No, I’m not tempted to have a look.” Speaking at the launch of the Prince of Egypt musical this week, Stephanie reveals she was in awe of the performers – but vows never to sing or dance again.

“My children would give back their pocket money rather than hear me sing,” she says. “It’s complete admiration for people that can sing and dance, who obviously didn’t see me in Strictly Come Dancing.”

Stephanie, who first found fame in 1981 in the gritty wartime TV drama Tenko, was the first female celebrity voted off Strictly back in 2007.

She says: “I loathed it but I love to see other people being so clever.”

Talking about Joseph Bennett, the father of her two children, she says: “I have lost somebody, so I used that because it’s universal, no matter who you lose.

“Having been through the process myself, I know you have to live your life and you have to get on with it. She can’t disappear up her own backside.”

Pal plays her husband Luke in the show, which will be screened later this month.
