STAR & HUBBY

- BY KELLY JENKINS

NICOLE Kidman turns lockdown into rock-down as she and country singer hubby Keith Urban delight fans with an intimate online gig.

The Moulin Rouge star could not have looked happier as she danced barefoot in the couple’s home studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

In the post shared on Keith’s Instagram, Hollywood legend Nicole, 52, cheers her husband on as she sways and struts through the 30-minute session – watched by half a million fans.

Keith kicked off the gig on his banjo for the appropriately titled Never Comin’ Down before praising his wife of 14 years, insisting he “couldn’t do it without her”.

The couple have two children together – daughters Sunday, 12, and Faith, 10 – and Nicole has been sharing pictures of their cosy family life, including their toy poodle, as they stay safe at home.

She admits: “I feel Keith is my inspiration because he’s the one that says to me, ‘Baby, just go for it. You can do it.’

“When I lose my confidence, he will prop me up. We all need somebody like that in our lives, whether a parent or a partner. I am very fortunate to have that.”

DEMAND

While she is still as in-demand as ever as an actress – and now also as a producer – Nicole puts family life first, making sure she and 52-year-old Keith get plenty of time with their girls.

Despite making up to four films a year since she was 16, she insists: “I take long breaks. It doesn’t seem like it, but I do.”

And her career shows no sign of slowing. Next month the Australian actress appears in Sky Atlantic’s six-part thriller The Undoing.

For that she teamed up as executive producer alongside Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier, who made Netflix horror hit Bird Box.

In The Undoing, Nicole plays a therapist whose life unravels as she learns her husband – played by Hugh Grant – may have been to blame for a widespread disaster.

She said flitting from in front of the camera to behind it keeps her on her toes.

She said: “There’s a certain point where you have to go, ‘Okay, now I am acting.’

“There’ll be times where we’re like, ‘Oh my God, we lost this location! Oh my gosh, we’ve lost this actor. What are we going to do?’

“So you have to deal with that and then step on set to be the actor.

“I think it’s important for the director to know you are still the actor, even when you’re producing. It’s still very much a case of the director being the leader and you are following.”

Nicole, whose career began more than three decades ago with Australian films Bush Christmas and BMX Bandits, admits she feels lucky to still be getting great roles in her 50s.

She is loving being part of the “golden age” of television – especially as a producer. She said: “To go to an executive producer and a director with an idea and for them to say, ‘Yes, we want this’ is just a wonderful thing as an actor and a woman – one who is at the age I am especially.

“Being able to have a say and not having somebody else choose for me is such a blessing.”

The Oscar-winner’s small-screen comeback – 28 years after starring alongside Denholm Elliott in Bangkok Hilton – came when she appeared in HBO’s 2017 series Big Little Lies alongside Reese Witherspoon.

The series, for which Nicole was also executive producer, was a phenomenal success and won a raft of top awards.

Nicole herself won the Best Actress Emmy and Golden Globe for her portrayal of Celeste, a woman trapped in a marriage mired in domestic violence.

She says filming the series sparked a lifelong friendship between her and
