Judd can dominate for decade
LEGEND Stephen Hendry believes potting sensation Judd Trump is ready to dominate snooker for the next 10 years.
World champion and world No.1 Trump has blown away all that have stood in his path during a record-breaking season.
Trump became the first player to win six titles in the same season before coronavirus brought snooker to a premature halt with two tournaments still to be played.
And Hendry (below) said: “Judd has been incredible. It’s pretty much been domination of the sport.
“He’s got what I had, he has that ‘greed’. He just wants to win in everything he plays in.
“It’s great to be greedy for success, it’s one of the best assets you can have. “I think it could be total domination of the sport for the next 10 years.
“I’m not surprised, but I don’t think even he would have expected to win six tournaments in the same season. And he did it with two tournaments left.
“There’s still great players out there. Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Ronnie O’Sullivan will be there or thereabouts.
“Plus there’s Ding Junhui and couple of the Chinese players who are capable of winning titles too, but I think Judd is going to dominate.”
Trump, 30, has now won 17 ranking titles, which still leaves him 19 behind Hendry’s record haul of 36.
But seven-time world champion Hendry reckons the fearless left-hander has the world at his feet.
The Scot added: “Judd plays a brand of snooker everyone loves watching, attacking and aggressive.
“And when he’s finished one event he’s back practising the next day.
“Very few people have the special ability to keep winning and winning. Judd is one of those people.”
