70 women demand payouts
AT least 70 alleged victims of Epstein and Maxwell have applied for compensation, according to reports.
The most vocal of Maxwell’s accusers, Virginia Giuffre, met her while working at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Maxwell offered her a job as a massage therapist for Epstein – and Virginia claims the pair were soon grooming and abusing her.
British actress Anouska de Georgiou, 42, has already bravely waived her anonymity to speak about her ordeal.
Anouska, who appeared with Jude Law in the 2004 film Alfie, claims she was abused for several years throughout the 1990s in various countries. She said: “If you’re a young person walking into a mansion or someone’s island and all the people who are present are acting as though this is OK and you’re the only one who thinks it’s weird, it’s hard to say something.”
Artist Maria Farmer made the first criminal complaint against Epstein in 1996 – but prosecutors in New York took no action. She and her younger sister Annie say they were sexually assaulted.
Chauntae Davies, now 40, says she was repeatedly raped by Epstein for several years before she escaped his clutches in 2005.
Her complaint to prosecutors last year sparked Epstein’s arrest.
Jennifer Araoz, now 32, accused Epstein of raping her when she was 15.
