In 1991, his body was found floating by the yacht off the
Canary Islands in an apparent suicide. It was then discovered he had stolen the pension assets of Mirror Group Newspapers. Ghislaine, who has suggested he was murdered, moved to the US shortly afterwards.
She became a player in New York high society – making friends with Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana. She met Jeffrey Epstein at a party in the late 1990s. It is unclear how she met Prince Andrew but they were close friends for years.
She introduced Andrew to Epstein in the late 1990s and was pictured with Epstein and Hollywood pervert Harvey Weinstein at Princess Beatrice’s 18th birthday bash at
Windsor Castle. Ghislaine was not seen in public with Epstein after he was jailed in 2008 but continued her friendship with Andrew.
They are said to have met at Buckingham Palace last summer, shortly before Epstein took his own life while awaiting trial. The furore forced Ghislaine into hiding.
