NEARLY six in 10 voters believe Boris Johnson is relaxing lockdown too early.

And more than half have written off this year to Covid-19 and are not planning to book any holidays.

A Sunday Mirror poll of 2,000 voters by Redfield & Wilton shows eight in 10 back the Leicester lockdown.

But 45 per cent have no confidence in the PM’s steps to prevent a second wave against 36 per cent who think they are adequate.

Seven in 10 are bracing themselves for another outbreak – while 58 per cent blame those who do not follow lockdown rules if there is one.

Although 51 per cent have abandoned holidays this year, 25 per cent intend to go on a UK staycation with only 17 per cent aiming to go abroad.

A third are most looking forward to going to the hairdressers, next to seeing family and friends, while 17 per cent chose the pub.

NEARLY three-quarters of diners say they fear eating at restaurants as lockdown eases.

Their worries about the risk of Covid-19 infection emerge in a poll following Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s plea for Brits to “eat out to help out”.

A total of 43 per cent intend to visit restaurants far less often and 17 per cent not at all.

More than a third said they will stick to takeaways.

BookingTek, which ran the survey with TableRes, said: “Touchless technology is vital.”
