THE only reassuring aspect of more VAR bleating is that it is a sign of football edging back to normality.

The two decisions causing most outrage – both involving innocuouslooking handballs in the build-up to ‘goals’ at Bramall Lane and the Etihad – were correct in law.

So, even if you think them rubbish, at least the decisions are consistently rubbish.
