Yeah, but no, but let’s do a podcast It’s digital Little Britain… if computer doesn’t say no

Little Britain could be set for a reboot in a new format – despite recently being dropped from streaming platforms due to concerns about some of its content.

Former stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, who wrote the show together, are in talks to make a podcast that could see a return for the muchloved comedy.

Matt confirmed in March they had been in talks with streaming giant Netflix to bring back the BBC sketch show – which began its life on radio in 2000 before moving to TV three years later. It came under fire this year over characters such as Ting Tong, a Thai mail order bride played by Matt, and Desiree DeVere, a black woman played in full blackface by David. The controversy saw it removed from a number of platforms, including Netflix, along with another series by the comedy duo, Come Fly With Me.

Both comedians had previously expressed regret over the portrayals, and issued a further apology last month. A source says David and Matt have been looking at new formats for the show – perhaps launching as a podcast.

An insider says: “Spotify is among those who have mooted David and Matt as targets to commission a podcast with.

“They’d love for it to be around Little Britain, off the back of the success last year of their Radio Two Little Britain show. They’re both huge names, so it would be sure to be an instant hit.”

The source adds: “It’s looking even more likely after conversations with Netflix about a Little Britain comeback have come to a standstill due to political correctness reigning in TV at present.

“David and Matt are aware that podcasting is huge and is growing.

“It’s much less time-consuming as no filming is required. Podcasting a series is being given much due consideration.”

Loose Women star

found herself in a funny situation while shopping. The television host got caught out buying bottles of vodka, but claims they aren’t for drinking.

Stacey, 30, says she bought the booze to make pillow spray with – but panicked about what folk might think as she travelled home with the stash.

“Just running back from the shop because I ran out of witch hazel,” she declared.

“The only other thing you can use for pillow spray is vodka – and I didn’t get a bag because it’s bad for the environment, so now I’m running home… in case someone sees me with a bottle of vodka and loads of cans – it’s for pillow spray, I swear!”

I believe you Stacey!
