Little Mix relive talent show tears in search for band

-

It’s autumn, nights are getting colder, and another lockdown looms. Oh dear.

But fear not… Little Mix have been enduring “sleepless nights” and “lots of tears” to bring us new TV talent show The Search.

The BBC One contest will see Perrie Edwards , Jesy Nelson , Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock become mentors as they put together a boyband.

Perrie explains: “There have been a lot of tears and we’ve had sleepless nights thinking about the bands. We’re that involved.

“I just cry to my mam the whole time. She goes, ‘ I know it must be very emotional but you’ve got to stay strong. You’re experienced in this

now.’ And I’m like, ‘ But it’s really hard’. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster.”

The talented hopefuls are auditioned individually before being put through their paces alongside fellow wannabes – with the winners joining Little Mix on their 2021 Confetti Tour.

The band won The X Factor in 2011 but Jade claimed splitting from boss

Simon Cowell ’s record label Syco in 2018 left them “f***** over”.

I’m sure Simon – who is recovering after breaking his back – will be keen to tune in to the show, which is filling the Saturday night hole left by the end of The X Factor.

But Leigh- Anne insists: “There’s no gimmick acts, it’s just about vocals.”

Jade is hoping to “create a new Haim, a vocal instrument group, as there’s a gap in the market for that”.

Haim are one of my favourite bands, so I’m up for that. I just hope they can get the fun factor in there.

The best thing about Simon’s show was acts like Honey G , Wagner and, of course, the incredible Rylan Clark-Neal . Some of the best TV scenes EVER .

If they can top that, I’ll be amazed…

I just cry to my mam the whole time, it’s been so emotional
