Ole slams fixtures shambles

-

UPSET, FOR SHAW Gutted Luke Shaw walks off injured you expect players to perform to the best of their ability when you set us up with a lunchtime kick-off? It’s an absolute joke.

“We tried a month ago to have this game moved.

“What sense is there for us playing on a Saturday when we could have played on a Sunday with an international break to follow.

“You’ve got Liverpool and City, who both played Tuesday, playing against each other on Sunday.

“Who is responsible?

I’ve had enough. Those boys deserve better than being thrown out here to fail today.

“How can you defend the quality of the product with things like this?

“At a time like this we shouldn’t be harming players we should be looking after them.

“Luke Shaw has a hamstring injury, which might be a long one because of it all, and Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof might be struggling.

“It’s an absolute shambles, but I can’t praise the boys enough for that character they’ve shown – not just from coming from behind to win, but their performance.”

Solskjaer singled out star man Fernandes, who scored twice before half-time after Brazilian winger Bernard had given Everton an early lead.

Fernandes then set up new signing Edinson

Cavani to seal victory in the closing seconds.

Solskjaer added: “He scored two fantastic goals and set up Cavani at the end – it was a fabulous performance. But they were all great.”

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti was angry with his side’s defending as they slipped to a third straight defeat.

He said: “It was not a good performance defensively. After we scored the goal we didn’t defend properly, and gave them chances to score two easy goals. That’s the reason we lost.”
