Roy ears no evil

-

ROY HODGSONHO was subjected to an angry rantr from Leeds’ sporting directodirector Victor Orta as passions spilled over at Selhurst Park.

The fformer England boss was haranharangued from the stand behind his dug-out as Marcelo Bielsa’s memen slumped to their second 4-1 defedefeat inside one week.

The EaglesE were a goal to the good anand chasing a second when Eberechi Eze was hauled down on the edge of the Leeds penalty area in the 20th minute.

Orta was furious that the ball had not been booted out of play to allow for treatment to Mateusz Klich who had been upended.

When Eze picked himself up to score the second, Orta exploded, hurling verbals in the direction of the Palace dug-out from the directors’ area.

Hodgson took the diplomatic line after the final whistle, saying: “I didn’t hear it. In actual fact we were quite prepared to put the ball out.

“But as play continued the ball bounced about and our player was fouled. If that hadn’t have happened, we would have most certainly put it out. As we did earlier.

“As for anything else, I didn’t hear it as my concentration on the game at hand was so intense.”
