Esha shows us her girl power
When you give a girl a chance, she can achieve incredible results, as shown by Esha Mumtaz. Esha arrived in the UK from Pakistan in 2017, and had to start from the beginning because her qualifications were not recognised.
In order to work in a care home, she took her GCSEs and completed a diploma for which she was awarded Young Student of the Year by Stockport College for her “outstanding commitment”.
She travelled two hours by bus to voluntarily work with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients at Trafford General Hospital.
Esha said: “I come from a background where girls do not get many opportunities to study… I am very lucky; my college and my parents are very supportive.
“By winning this award, I want to inspire girls out there that you are capable of great things.”
Congratulations, Esha, you are a great role model.

Brendon Prince, 48, hopes to set off on April 24 and finish in 90 days.
Brendon, from Torquay, has been a safety campaigner since trying in vain to save two sea swimmers while off duty in 2014.
