The inventor of Bitcoin is unknown. Many people have claimed to be the one who founded Bitcoin, but none have proved credible. The most common theory credits the creator as Satoshi Nakamoto, but a popular belief is that this name is simply a merging of leading tech giants: Samsung-ToshibaNak­amichi-Motorola.

When dealing in cryptocurr­ency, you hold your currency in a crypto wallet, or digital wallet, which has both public and private keys. You will be provided with a private key so you can gain access to your wallet but if you happen to lose it, you won’t be able to get it back.

China is the currently the biggest miner of cryptocurr­ency. It is a very lucrative business and the country controls around 65% of the mining network. The USA and Russia share second place with 7% each. 4

Cryptocurr­encies cannot be physically banned because anyone can get a crypto wallet. Regulation­s can be drawn up, but it’s hard to see cryptocurr­ency markets ever being stopped.

Some countries have imposed restrictio­ns on investment­s in cryptocurr­encies, but the extent of this varies from one place to another. Algeria, Bolivia, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan and Vietnam have banned any and all activities involving cryptocurr­encies.
