A BRIT SKIING WIN? NOR WAY!

Health Lottery ticket

-

This week I have been gripped by the cricket match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, in which the Afghans scored more than 500. (That’s a lot.)

The story of Afghan cricket is astonishing. It began in 2001 after the Americans started bombing the country. Tens of thousands fled to refugee camps in Pakistan.

To ease the boredom, the Pakistanis taught cricket to the refugees, many of whom became obsessed with the game, until they had a side good enough to compete in international matches.

The British need to learn from this. We should ask the Americans to bomb us, then we can all flee to Norway.

In 20 years we’ll win our first skiing gold medals at the Winter Olympics. From there, we should keep fleeing, to learn sports we’ve never been any good at.

We could start a civil war in Wiltshire, so they can all flee to Saudi Arabia. Then in 20 years the UK will be ranked Number 3 in the world at camel racing, with a silver medal going to Mister Tidmarsh, who used to run a garden centre near Salisbury.

One day, if England play as they did in the recent series against India, we might have to flee to Afghanistan to learn how to play cricket.

As grey clouds were refusing to shift in Blighty, Rita Ora was living a very colourful dream Down Under.

The Hot Right Now singer looked phenomenal in a silky rainbow cloak before dancing her way through Australia’s LGBTQ+ Mardi Gras in Sydney.

After getting emotional on stage, she told her fans: “Last night will remain a special moment for me for ever.” Hopefully she can recycle that cloak for Pride in London this September. Feather boas at the ready...

When Sgt Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays) kills an unarmed suspect during a police raid, AC-12 start investigating him.

But in a shocking end to episode one, Waldron is bumped off by one of his colleagues.

Before his death, he tells DI Fleming about a child abuse ring that operated at a home he was placed in as a kid.

He tries to pass on a list of names but it is intercepted and destroyed by Cottan.

The corrupt officer then frames

Arnott as The

Caddy – but a newly acquitted DI Denton saves the day. She manages to get a copy of Waldron’s list to AC-12, which reveals that Cottan is in fact The Caddy. He later tracks down Denton and kills her.

In a dramatic finale, Cottan is grilled by AC-12 but escapes and is chased by Fleming. Just when we think she’s about to be shot by one of his criminal pals, he takes a bullet for her. In his dying moments, Cottan reveals a key piece of information, which Fleming records on her phone.

GUEST STAR Daniel Mays

Cast members Adrian, Vicky and Martin may have gone viral on TikTok with funny dad-dancing during filming last October, but don’t be fooled – there is very little light relief in Jed Mecurio’s script for season six.

Trainspotting actress Kelly Macdonald, 45, makes her debut as DCI Joanne Davidson, whose

TEASER AC-12 officers take on Police and Crime Commissioner conduct on an unsolved murder case arouses the suspicion of AC-12. Former Our Girl actress Shalom Brune-Franklin also joins the team as DC Chloe Bishop.

Trailer footage hints that Police and Crime Commissioner Rohan Sindwhani (Ace Bhatti) could be corrupt as Hastings appears to brand him “a bare-faced liar promoted to our highest office”. But the biggest shock of all is the idea that Fleming could actually be corrupt. Is she H?

Let’s hope that after seven stress-inducing episodes, we have more answers than questions.
