TUI has christened the second ship in its river fleet. Skyla was officially named at Mainz in Germany then sailed her inaugural festive-themed Mistletoe and Rhine itinerary to Cologne, Dusseldorf and Koblenz. The godmother was Catherine Hawkins, an exam officer from Barnsley, who was chosen from public applications.

TUI’s ocean brand Marella has been forced to switch Explorer 2 from a

Med voyage next week to cover the Canaries for Explorer, which is dry docked for maintenance in Cadiz.

The work has been delayed because of strike action by metalworkers in the south of Spain which has impacted the shipyard. Passengers can change to another sailing with an incentive or receive a full refund. tui.co.uk/cruise
