ADELE has revealed she misses being married and believes her chart-topping album 30 proves she is not “an angry divorced woman”.
The star, 33, said she is maturing as her lyrics about divorcing Simon Konecki are not as bitter as they would have been in the past.
The couple, who have a son aged nine, split in 2019 after a year of marriage and divorced in March the year.
The multi-millionaire singer, who is now dating US sports agent Rich Paul, 39, admitted that she would consider getting married in the future.
She said: “I’m definitely open to marriage again. The feeling I had in being married was the safest feeling I’ve ever had in my life and, sadly, it didn’t work out. But I miss being married.”
Adele felt 30 struck “the right tone of a relationship falling apart”. She added: “Before it would be ‘you f***ing this’ or ‘you f***ing that’. I am in my 30s now and that gets me nowhere.
“It’s about you having to sit down as two absolute grown-ups having to talk about how you are going to split your lives apart. It has to be respectful of each other and calm or nothing will
get sorted out. We love each other so much but it is not working.
“The tone of it is kind. It is not bitter, argumentative or ‘f*** you’ and all that. It cannot be like that when there is a child involved.
“There have been all sorts of rumours online about why he got all my money. “As if I am stupid to let someone have all my money? Not that he would even ask for it. A lot of people thought I was going to be an angry divorced woman. Well, I am not – listen to my side.”
The superstar’s comeback single Easy On Me has been number one for five weeks. She told Sirius XM: “It was a good indicator of what to expect lyrically from the album and the first song I wrote for the album. Clearly I am not as devastated as I was on the other records.
“It is a very calm record. Obviously it is talking about things falling apart and stuff but it is very grown-up and having to have those big conversations.” Rumours began in July that she and Paul were a couple after they were pictured together. In September she posted a picture of the pair with a heart, making them Instagram official.
And in October they were photographed together at a basketball game.
