FIANCEE FEARS FOR STAR BEZ IN DANCING ON ICE

- EXCLUSIVE BY Showbiz Editor HALINA WATTS Halina.watts@mirror.co.uk

DANCING On Ice contestant Bez may have slipped up on the rink this week but he won’t be falling under the show’s dreaded love curse as he only has eyes for his fiancée.

The Happy Mondays and Gogglebox star, who took a nasty tumble during rehearsals, says he is not interested in anyone but singer Firouzeh Razavi.

But she is so worried about Bez on ice, she fears a fall might kill him.

Bez has promised to survive the show so the couple can marry in September – and he definitely won’t be sliding off with his pro partner, Angela Egan.

He says: “At 57, I’ve lost the libido where you want to shag everyone in the room. It’s a good thing… Firou’s got me at my best.

“I couldn’t be bothered with all the drama, I’m definitely getting older.

“All men are lotharios until a certain age, but I think everybody is quite well behaved on this show.”

Bez told how Angela, his partner on the ice, had been “great” with him.

He says: “She’s a northern lass. They put us together because they thought we would understand each other because of our accents.

“I can see why people find love on the show – the girls are very attractive. But it’s not the case with me and Angela.

“We have a genuine friendship without any sexual tension.”

Fiancée Firouzeh isn’t worried about having a potential love rival though.

She says: “Things like that don’t even cross my mind. I’m in a band with loads of men and you just have to trust each other in this industry.”

Bez describes himself as the “worst skater ever” and will be the first DOI star to perform in a helmet.

It will be decorated to look like a melon, in a nod to Happy Mondays lyric: “You’re twistin’ my melon, man.”

Bez says: “When I first started [skating], I had double vision, I was seeing two ice rinks. The worst thing was trying to put food in my mouth, I kept missing it!”

The man with the maracas admits his fall left him a bit shaken. He says: “On Friday, in rehearsals, I kept falling over.

All men are lotharios... but we’re all well behaved on this show

ON WHY THIS YEAR’S DOI WILL BE CURSE-FREE

I was so nervous. Don’t worry, though – I’m not going to kill myself. I’m getting married so I can’t take any risks.”

Firouzeh, 35, adds: “When he told me he fell, I was like, ‘Oh no, that is not good at all’. I always say, ‘Whatever you do,

He always said he wasn’t romantic but it turns out he is FIROUZEH RAZAVI ON HER MAN’S PROPOSAL

protect your head. You can’t fall on your head because you could die’.

“I don’t want to attract negative energy… we’re a lucky couple.”

Celebrity Big Brother winner Bez popped the question in October after a picnic on top of the Skirrid in Wales.

But he says: “She was in so much shock, she forgot to respond. I said, ‘Are you gonna say yes or what?’”

Firouzeh laughs: “I couldn’t believe it. He always said he wasn’t a romantic, but it turns out he is.”

Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder will be the best man when they wed and their first dance will be to

David Bowie’s Absolute Beginners. But there’ll be no maracas. “I’ll save them for the bedroom,” Bez laughs.

He has three sons and a grandson, but the couple are not planning to have any more children as Firouzeh is focused on her career with metal band Control The Storm, who will be at Download Festival later this year.

Before that though, she will be cheering on her man rinkside.

Bez says: “She takes great care of me. She’s really loving – everything a man would want.”
