REICH SAID FRED

- BY AMY SHARPE

EXCLUSIVE

POP nice guys Right Said Fred stunned fans by sharing a web video of Neo-Nazis spouting racist conspiracy theories and anti-vax madness.

The I’m Too Sexy stars promoted a livestream starring the leader of Patriotic Alternative – described as the UK’s biggest fascist threat.

The 90s band – led by brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass – used their page on messaging app Telegram to share the link to 5,600 fans. A spokesman said it was done in error and had since been deleted.

Listeners were greeted with a two-hour discussion hosted by PA leader Mark Collett – a neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier who has praised Hitler.

Collett later plugged the band’s account, gloating: “I never thought Right Said Fred would ever share any of my content, but we live in interesting times!”

He was joined on the podcast by blogger Jason Köhne, using the name No White Guilt, and US racist Dr David Duke, a former grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

A fan of RSF said: “I couldn’t believe my ears. It’s not the sort of thing you expect them to promote.”

The brothers were famed for their cheesy lyrics and videos. I’m Too Sexy went to No1, while Deeply Dippy was another catchy hit. But they describe themselves on Telegram as “two musicians with opinions that don’t fit the mainstream news media narrative”.

Over the pandemic, the Fairbrasses said they are anti-vax and joined an anti-lockdown demo in London. Richard, 68, fell ill with Covid last year and was in hospital for four nights. He said he still opposed the vaccine, claiming it is “for experimental use”.

The brothers shared the Patriotic Weekly Review – in which Duke calls the jab “the most dangerous mass vaccine ever in the history of mankind”. Duke also spouts an unfounded theory that paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell were part of a “Jewish mega group” with a “zionist” agenda. And he insists he is “proud” to have been dubbed “the most hated anti-semite in the world”.

A spokesman for RSF said: “The boys share information they feel isn’t covered by the mainstream media, this is a rare example where the band got it wrong.”
