FOOTBALLER Harry Maguire will dive into married life at a pool party with his new wife.

Today’s bash comes hours after the England and Manchester United defender exchanged vows with Fern Hawkins, 27, at a French chateau.

The couple were joined by his Three Lions team mate Jordan Pickford and the goalie’s wife Megan Davison, who was bridesmaid.

Red Devils captain Harry, 29, arrived in Burgundy on a £50,000 private jet with around 30 family and friends. They then headed to the £250,000 do at Chateau de Varennes – once voted one of the world’s finest wedding venues. It is understood the couple, who met when they were teenagers, had written some of their own vows and chose a singer for the ceremony.

They shared cocktails with their loved ones on Friday – and plan to have a party at the venue’s outdoor pool before returning to the UK.

“Harry wanted everything to be perfect,” said a source. “It was for close family and friends and there was no expense spared.”

Guests were asked not to use mobile phones to avoid snaps being leaked. One of Fern’s friends took the official wedding photos.

Harry crossed the Channel as an England fan for the 2016 Euros before getting his big break on Gareth Southgate’s side.

He proposed to Fern in Paris in February 2018, after which she said: “Harry made me the happiest girl in the world and asked me to marry him in the most perfect way.”

The Varennes estate has a princess suite, 22 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms. A church sits in its grounds, as well as an orangery described as one of France’s best reception rooms. The couple exchanged vows at a register office in Crewe, Cheshire, last month to get a UK marriage certificate. But they always wanted the French bash to be their real wedding day. The couple have daughters Lillie Saint, three – born nine months after England beat Colombia at the 2018 World Cup – and two-year-old Piper Rose.

Harry’s parents, Zoe and Alan, travelled to France with his brothers Laurence, 25, and Joe, 30.

The footballer will now enjoy a short break before rejoining his Old Trafford teammates and new boss, Erik ten Hag.
